Sunrise at New City Park

Hello folks, well the season is over and now it is time take home your kayaks, rafts, paddles. The New City Park Board would like you to remove your boats as we do not want to end up as a storage place or…” dump”. If you see a boat and recognize it or know the member that owns it, please tell them to bring them back home for the winter.
We hope that everyone is healthy and safe. We wanted to update the membership on the park’s operations. The Board of Directors recently met regarding how to move forward with the park’s grounds usage and general business.
We are still unable to gather and have a membership meeting where we can obtain a quorum and we’re considering an electronic gathering. We are hoping that if gathering restrictions loosen soon we may be able to have an outside meeting at the clubhouse. The club is still operating, bills are being paid and the grounds maintained. To all of you who have paid your dues, thank you we appreciate your prompt response.
As for the clubhouse and grounds nothing has changed. We are unable to safely rent out the clubhouse for large gatherings. We still ask that if you use the clubhouse area that you practice recommended safety guidelines. Use social distancing especially if inside the clubhouse, wear a mask when needed and clean up afterwards if your using the picnic area. We will be posting reminders for safety and of course will adjust how the grounds are used as this crisis changes.
Work on the park has been completed by volunteers over the past few weeks and the lake is back to it’s normal level. The dam was painted, the weir gate cleared, grounds cleaned up and debris removed from the lake.
There has been an increase in guest membership requests for the club and to that end board members Kent Pedersen and Tom Holihan will be handling those requests. Guest members must be proposed by an deeded rights member who is in good standing and their sponsor is responsible for the guest at the park. If you are a already a guest member of the club please contact newcityparkclub@gmail.com for more information.
As always if there are any questions don’t hesitate to contact us and you can always get club updates and our Facebook page and at newcitypark.com

Friends and neighbors,
Andre D’Andrea is the owner of Cornerstone Café in Congers. He is also a long time member of the park. He and his wife Ann have been active at the park and great neighbors. Andre wanted to let NCP members know that during this uncertain time Cornerstone Café will be delivering to New City.
On all orders to New City Park he will donate 10% back to NCP! The food is great and you will be supporting a neighbor and our community.
Cornerstone Café, Rt 303, Congers, NY (845) 267-2656 open for breakfast and lunch daily. (5am – 3pm weekdays and 6am – 2pm weekends)
Stay healthy!

We just wanted to update everyone with a few things involving the club. We hope that everyone is well and doing their best in dealing with this crisis and lets hope that it ends soon. A new annual meeting date is still not set and we will keep everyone updated on this issue along with proxy voting forms if your not available when we do have it. The park is moving along as usual with the Board of Directors handling business in its regular fashion. A hold placed on group events and activities at the park is still in effect for now.We have seen a sharp increase in the parks usage which brings us to matters involving our clubs grounds.
So far everyone has been great about and very understanding while using the social distancing recommendations set by the CDC and State Health Departments, but we need to remember a few things. If your bringing a social distance meal into the park please clean up after yourself, make sure the garbage ends up safely in a garbage can or bring it home with you for disposal. Now more than ever this is important for you and your neighbors. If your walking a dog please keep that dog leashed while on park grounds and clean up after the dog if it becomes necessary. Please don’t feed the wildlife in the park including ducks and geese. Feeding wildlife encourages them to stay which could become a problem for both the wildlife and the club. Lastly, keep a check on your family and neighbors and make sure they’re okay during this trying time.best wishes.

A pandemic can not stop Gail and old childhood friends from celebrating a belated St. Patricks day Celebration together. Each sitting alone at picnic table keeping a safe distance, wearing rubber gloves and wiping down everything with Lysol wipes. The Gang reminisced, over old times, each telling which county in Ireland did there parents come from. Followed with a toast, corn beef and cabbage and soda bread.
Good afternoon everyone,
The clubs annual meeting scheduled for March 25th will be postponed due to concerns regarding the Covid 19 virus outbreak. The annual meeting will be rescheduled as soon as this crisis has passed. You may have already received the clubs annual meeting notice in the mail, please disregard it. Along these lines the Board of Directors has decided to temporarily suspend all clubhouse rentals and events until this crisis has passed. We appreciate that this may be an inconvenience and feel that at this time these actions are in everyones best interest.
thank you
ABrian Holihan, NCP Board of Directors
