Hello everyone,
We hope that everyone is well and wanted to pass along a club update. We are going to break with tradition and hold the clubs annual membership meeting outside so we can try to accommodate as many members as possible during this pandemic. The annual meeting is scheduled for April 24th at 10 am at the clubhouse with a rain date ofSunday the 25th at 10 am. A follow up email with meeting information and reminder postcards will be coming soon, remember only members in good standing who have deeded rights can vote at the meeting. If you are uncertain of your club status or if your dues are up to date or you need a voting proxy form contact newcityparkclubtreasurer@gmail.com.
We will be lowering the lake’s water level this week for the annual dam, weir gate and spillway inspections and repairs , then the dam can be painted as required. We will also be repairing sprinkler and fountain water lines and emails and notices will be sent out for volunteer work parties.
This year we will be tackling a beach repair and brook area cleanup using a local contractor and hope to have this work wrapped up quickly. The board is working on a process of opening up the clubhouse with restricted use of the facilities which would include a covid tracing book for everyone to use. As of now the grounds are open with members using NYS Department of Health and US CDC Covid 19 safety recommendations on masks and social distancing. As soon as the board can safely open up the clubhouse we will. The membership should know that part of the board’s caution is based on instances during the pandemic where the clubhouse was used in violation of Covid 19 guidelines which drew the attention of local authorities. The board addressed the instances and corrective measures were taken.
We know that this has been a tough time for everyone, We proved last year that we can have a successful, safe and fun place to relax, hang out and swim and do it safely. Last season our community got together and accomplished this and had even more families get involved which is a testament to the memberships goodwill.
If anyone has any questions or comments feel free to let us know.
